5th Annual Drive for the Podium

The 5th Annual Mark Lowry Drive for the Podium Golf Tournament took place on Monday, June 21st, 2010 at the Stonebridge Golf and Country Club in Ottawa. Over 180 people attended the golf and/or dinner on that day, raising much needed funds for current and aspiring Olympic athletes and coaches. Over the past five years this tournament has raised over $125,000 thanks to the generosity of many sponsors and attendees. Funds have been donated for a rowing training centre in Victoria, BC, a diving training centre in Calgary, AB, and a canoe/kayak facility in Ottawa, ON.

This year, thanks to the generosity of those in attendance, $25,600 was raised for the Mark Lowry Sport Excellence Fund.

The Mark Lowry Memorial Sport Excellence Fund was established as a tribute to Mark Lowry, the Canadian Olympic Committee's Executive Director of Sport, who passed away on October 22, 2005. For further information about the fund and Mark Lowry click here.
